Second day in USA

Station Amtrak in New Jersey

We went from New Jersey to Boston by AMTRAK (It’s name for speed train) in Indonesia like Businees class in train, my first experience using AMTRAK is always ontime and check it, good facility and comfortable. Not so fast, from New Jersey to Basten we through some station they are New London station, Pensylvania New York station, and others. During trip I seen America in widely, with so many car, houses, trees, lakes, forests, and many others. I found something that america not all of part good and be well take care of society like rubbish, dirty lake, and broken bridge. In America even that expensive and exclusive car they park in public parking without proof and covered by sun and wind. In AMTRAK I analyze that American people if one person that want something or felt disturb by other people his spoke directly. 

This is trip spent 4-5 hours to arrive in Boston Station. We met mr.Sukidi and the other friends. Mr.Sukidi gave us charly card that function like a ticket to using public transportation that exist in Boston, Massachuchets Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA). From Silversten Station in Boston to Summervile ave (mr.sukidi apartment) we must use two kind transportation they are train (redline) to Harvard Square station and bus number 86 to Sumerville st. Harvard Square station is first time I seen Harvard jacket and all student from Harvard University. This the firstime I visited Harvard University with all the red building, students, squirrel, and green grass it’s wonderfull. We have many picture Captured in John Harvard Statue “If you touch shoes of the Statue, you will back to Harvard again” Deep in my hearth I hope and pray, Allah give me this way I will be back again as an Harvard Student. In Mr.Sukidi Place we take a rest and Lunch, and for the boys divideed into two teams,one team lived in Harvard Housing and the other one in MIT Housing. I am Harvard Housing. In Afternoon we visited Harvard again to discuss about our presentation and our project, we visited many build and rooms like science, library, canteen, and classroom. 

Allah give me this way I will be back again as an Harvard Student

“American people is freedom people, the people want to free and fixx they culture” mr.sukidi said. Different cultural in american make our nationality and our religion will be decrease but I believe it depend on our self, but almost Indonesian people like that. We must life with our style. I beleve someday we will make Sumbawa as the center of excelent in Biotechnology. But the important one is good attitude. MIT team lived in MIT housing with mr.Putro a candidat doctor from Massachusets Institute and Technology (MIT) always smile, easy to talk, and friendly. Rian, mr.zain and I lived in mr. Ahmad sahal’s Harvard housing. He is a fellow reasearcher in Harvard Kennedy school for 4 years.

Third day in USA

 

Harvard Universitiy, Boston, MA

First time lived in Harvard Housing it’s very cold. Harvard housing is automatically building and complete facility. In the morning I seen my first morning in America with sounds of car, charles river, jogging, and tree’s have faling. Also, this is the first time we breakfast at mr.sukidi house. Everyday he will pick up both of teams Harvard team and MIT Team by his red SUV Honda. Today we focus in preparation both of presentation and poster from morning until afternoon in mr.sukidi house. Next we move on to Harvard University to continue discuss and finishing presentation and poster. From mr.sukidi to Harvard we used bus number 86. Harvard atmosphere it’s amazing and impressive, with many student busy to discuss, student went to campus by bicycle eventhough where are they from and many student using public transportation, with all facility that they have such as good and comfort room, big spaces, many places dicussion, volley ball court, and walking path.This the first time I discussed in Harvard University it’s like I am an Harvard student.

Fourth day in USA.

We early pick up with mr.Sukidi because mr. Arif our dean called us to meet him in Hyness convention center. The time for printing poster finally, with so many times revision with late responds and confusing people arround me. That cannot make fast and right decision. That make us feel free of worry when we found one place to printing poster near from mr.sukidi’s house, lucky for us that printing can be early opened and finished our poster at 01.00 pm. Poster’s setting will be sett in Hyness Convention Center during 4 pm – 6 pm. Using bus number 87 we went to Leichmere station and continued by train from leichmere station to prudential station (green line).

       On foot for less than 10 minutes we arrived in Hyness Convention Center and for 1 hour 30 minutes we waiting mr.Arif. During waiting we learned protocol of our project and meet many teams that from china and korea (arasho)  I like korea very much. I bought an Harvard jacket in Prudential center with two others (Azhar and Rian) with prices $ 39,99 same IDR 480.000 finally I get this awesome jacket. After that we met mr.arif and talk about our presentation and preparation for tomorrow. Mr.arif ask us to making many friends with the other team and also we must selfie with them and ask they e-mail address it’s gonna be more challanging. 

I stand on the road

 

     Azhar and I met one of the member of UCC Irreland his name Patrick. I will told you how about making friends easyly, I see his ID card name then I called his name like we have met before, and then you can talk about iGEM and competition, finally you introduce your self, this the way how I know patrick. Also patrick is so friendly and easy talk and to be one of my best friend. Not just patrick I met today today him name Ivan from Valencia UPV, same with patrick I met him in toilet and exactly use the same way like how I knowed patrick.

   In evening we practice season in room 302 for 30 minutes, It’s awesome room and comfortable, also with his Big LCD projector and good sound system. In Afternoon we registered our team and setup our poster. Number 135 is Sumbawagen poster Number. Because it’s to high we helped by Roger from Gaston Day School America, his very tall approximately 200 cm, and he is very shyness.
